Day 1
Step into Southeast Alaska with a naturalist photography guide to capture Juneau’s top sites and abundant marine wildlife.
Enjoy a professional instructional slideshow en route to the Mendenhall Glacier. Your photo guide works to inspire and educate while leading you to explore the Trail of Time capturing the natural history of the glacier. Walk an easy trail through the shelter of the forest to photograph the signs of glaciation. Our aim is to step away from the crowds and capture the area’s hidden places before stopping to shoot the glacier itself.
Next, board a safari vessel for an unforgettable journey as you learn about life and living in the waterways of Stephens Passage. These boats are designed to get you up close and personal with the environment.
On this tour the star of the show is different every day: wildflowers in bloom, soaring eagles, spawning salmon, light on a foggy glacier, migratory birds, bubble feeding humpback whales, curious sea lions, sleek killer whales, and even lumbering black bears are possibilities. Your guide will provide photo coaching while helping you take full advantage of the opportunities each day presents.
